Whilst Jeremy Irons will be portraying Alfred on the big screen in Man of Steel 2, it is Sean Pertwee who will be bringing him to life on the small screen.
Joining Alfred and Gordon as one of the big name characters on the show will be Robin Taylor as Oswald "The Penguin" Cobblepot.
Also cast is Erin Richards as Barbara Kean, an ER doctor engaged to Jim Gordon, and Zabryna Guevara who will taking on the role of Sarah Essen.
The pilot will be written by Bruno Heller and will start shooting on the 17th March. Gotham already has a full season commitment from Fox. Let's hope that it is more than a police procedural version of Smallville...
