Here is the first pic of Johnny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr Joan Watson in the new American TV series "Elementary".
I love the Moffat/Gatiss "Sherlock" and a new American modern day update sounds a bit like cashing in on the success of the Brit version. I'm not a huge fan of Miller (though I like that they are not Americanising Holmes too much and keeping him a Brit), and I'm not against the idea of a female Watson (though I hope they don't fall into the whole will they/won't they trap). Hell, maybe it would have been interesting for a female version of Sherlock too.
I'll no doubt give the first season a chance when it airs.
