Usually in The Pitch I take a comic property and translate it to film or TV. This month I'm doing something different.

Since the launch of The New 52 in September 2011 DC have marked the anniversary with an event month. 2012 was zero issues, 2013 villains month and this year has been Futures End. So, what can they do in the future?

Well, how about multimedia month? Yeah, lame title but that can be changed by folks not pitching ideas for free. Anywhoo, this would feature a version of the title character from another medium (movies or TV series; live action or animated) and a one shot adventure. Batman '66 has been successful enough to make this an actual option.

In 1997 Spawn was the star of a rather terrible flick. Since then his creator, Todd McFarlane, has been talking about a reboot movie in the vein of a low budget supernatural thriller rather than a superhero movie. Well, McFarlane need look no further than Spawn: The Recall a fan made short film from director Michael Paris.

Spawn: The Recall is a wonderfully stylish fantasy/horror thriller. Check it out:

In 2012 the brilliant Dredd was released and then tanked in cinematoriums. However, a positive reception from audiences and critics coupled with strong DVD/Blu Ray sales have made fans (and Karl Urban) optimistic for a sequel.

Now a convincing, rousing, fan-made musical is hoping to convince studio execs and keep interest in a (well deserved) sequel alive:
