For the last few years the WB have been releasing DC animated movies. Some are good* and some are bad**. Until recently these have been spearheaded by Bruce Timm, a man who has shepherded the animated DCU twenty years or so*** the torch has now been passed to James Tucker.

The movies mainly revolve around Superman, Batman or the Justice League. These are the main sellers' after all. So I am going to pick four storylines for each franchise that I think will be ideal and ripe for an animated adaptation.

Okay, first off, they would have to come up with a name for this movie. Maybe Superman/Batman: The Mightiest Team on Earth. This annual was a retelling of the first meeting of Superman and Batman from Superman (Vol 1) #76 and is a madcap tale featuring Superman, Batman, Lois, Deathstroke, Mr Mxyzptlk, Ultraman, Superwoman, Owlman and a character named Deaaaa--. Keep the humour, get Joe Kelly to adapt, go for the same animated tone of Batman: the Brave and the Bold and you would be on a winner.

Yeah, I know the official name of the series was DC One Million, but as this would be a Justice League movie, and would focus on their future versions, I felt the above title would be better. This movie would adapt the main mini series whilst taking from the tie-ins as or when it would be necessary. The fate of the present and the future of Earth and the galaxy hang in the balance, and who better to save us than the Worlds Greatest Superheroes?

This was the toughest. We could have gone easy and gone for The Long Halloween or completed the trilogy of the three best Batman stories ever****** and adapt The Killing Joke. But I decided to go for something different. Set in the Victorian era, which adds an air of darkness, Bruce Wayne has just returned from London to embark on his career as the Batman and it seems Jack the Ripper has followed him. This is Batman in his purest Dark Knight Detective persona.

This was a tough one as three of the best Superman stories have either been adapted for animated movies already**** or in the Justice League***** cartoon series. Given that we have had an animated movie origin for Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Shazam and the Justice League then surely it is about time we had the animated version of the origin for Superman? So why not adapt what is, in my opinion, the best version of a Superman origin story ever. Heck, even Man of Steel borrowed from it. This is a no-brainer.

Wonder Woman (seriously WB, adapt this into Diana's live action movie!)

** Justice League: War (if Michael Bay made a Justice League movie....)

*** Seriously WB, why wasn't Timm, Dini, Burnett et al never given the keys to the live action adaptations of the DCU?

**** All Star Superman (a valiant, if unsatisfying adaptation of the Best Superman Story EVER!) and Superman vs The Elite (I hate the animated style and some of the voice casting)

***** For the Man who has Everything (the best adaptation of an Alan Moore story and a wonderful adaptation of the second best Superman story)

****** 1. Batman: Year One and 2. Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part One and Part Two
