A year ago Max Landis gave us this amusing, if somewhat inaccurate, take on the Death and Return of Superman. Now, in the wake of the Man of Steel, Max Landis has something to say "about Superman and superheroes and sh!t".
Peter Rubin was the conceptual artist for Man of Steel designed with designing the "S" shield/glyph for the movie. Below are some of his designs:-

Warner realised the character was in their portfolio and they bought the rights back from the Salkands and handed the franchise over to Jon Peters with a view of making a movie from the biggest selling comic story of all time.
